Cardinal Pair on a Snowy Pine Crescent Ornament

The pair that comes back every winter

A red male cardinal and his cream-and-gold mate sit pressed together on a curling crescent of pine, the branch dusted with snow and lined in gold. Three small gold snowflakes hang inside the curve, and the open cut-outs let the tree lights show through around them.

Most birds leave when the cold comes. Cardinals stay — the same pair, on the same branch, all winter. That's the whole idea of this ornament: not just loving, but staying.

For a couple's tree, a long-married pair, or anyone who looks out for the cardinals every December.
