Where Pixiwoo began

The first frog we ever drew was standing in the rain, and the first thing we gave him was a leaf. Not a house, not a sun — a leaf, tilted just enough. That drawing became Frog Couple & Leaf Umbrella, and it is still the piece most people hang first. We have come back to the same idea ever since: a small creature, some weather, and something ordinary held up between the two.

What makes a Rainy Day Frog

Every piece in this collection has three things. There is weather — rain, drops, a puddle, a grey sky behind. There is shelter — a leaf, a mushroom cap, a daisy, a lotus pad, held like an umbrella. And there is someone small and dry underneath it. Frogs sitting on lily pads in the sunshine live elsewhere in the shop; this collection is only for the ones being looked after.

Who buys these

Mostly people buying for someone else — husbands for wives, friends after a hard year, daughters for mothers who love frogs. The note in the box usually says some version of the same thing: I've got you. Hang it in the window and the next real rain will look different.
